That said, here were my favorite reads lately:

Form and Function from Thrifty Decor Chick [Weekly Round-Up at High-Heeled Love}
I enjoyed a post by Thrifty Decor Chick about how she sneaks more storage in all over her house while still maintaing an attractive home. And are the bookshelves + cabinets above just gorgeous? It's hard to believe from her photos that she's a boy mom.

Five Reasons to Support Local Farmers at Busy Being Jennifer [Weekly Round-Up at High-Heeled Love]

Obviously, it comes as no surprise that the Mister and I are big supporters of local farm. This guest post on Busy Being Jennifer by Alicia from Hippy Juice Mama gives you five reasons to support your local farmers.

Why HIllary Clintons Campaign is Bad for Feminism by A Peek at Karen's World. [Weekly Round-Up at High-Heeled Love]

Without getting too much into the politics, Karen from A Peek at Karen's World shares some thoughts on Hillary Clinton's campaign as it relates to feminism...and I agree with a lot of her points. I'm all for women in leadership roles, but only when we earn those positions.

Blogging Mistakes You Might be Making at Venus Trapped in Mars [Weekly Round-Up at High-Heeled Love]

My lovely co-hostess Miss Angie wrote a guest post over at Venus Trapped in Mars that rounds up ten common blogging mistakes that is spot-on. Even though I've been blogging for years, her posts about blogging nearly always give me some advice to make my own blog a little better.

Google Algorithm Update from I Can Build a Blog [Weekly Round-Up at High-Heeled Love]

And as a blogging public service announcement, I Can Build a Blog shares how to make your blog mobile-friendly. With the google algorithm updates last week, it's in your interest to be sure your site will adapt to mobile screen.

I confess...

Last night the Mister and I headed out to the charity auction that we attend each year. Proceeds benefit a local hospital's cancer treatment and research. It's a pricey ticket, but we have fun and it's a good excuse to buy a new dress.

I confess...

For the first time ever, I won an item I was bidding on. We have a local artist nicknamed The Chicken Man. He was at our art festival, but I was too busy then to get to shop. I am thrilled that I now own one of his chicken paintings for my office.

I confess...

I made a mistake by getting on social media and saw a huge spoiler for Grey's Anatomy. If you have already watched it, tell me what you thought in the comments...let's just be careful about spoilers for through the weekend for those of us that catch up on the weekends.

This is the episode America will never forget. #GreysAnatomy is all-new tonight at 8|7c on ABC.

I confess...

This rugrat is definitely testing his limits lately. This week's shenanigans include jumping into the compost bin. Yep....we've fashioned a cover for it now. He also likes to wake me up by jumping on the bed and licking my eyes. It's a good thing he's cute.

That said, here were my favorite reads lately:

Ben & Jerry's: Ice Cream Social at Bakerella [Weekly Round-Up at High-Heeled Love]

Bakerella recently got to visit the Ben & Jerry's Factory in Vermont. Can I just say that I am jealous? That sounds like such a fun adventure. I now need to find out if you can schedule tours or if the factory is invitation only. A trip to Vermont may be in order.

DIY Potting Bench at Atta Girl Says [Weekly Round-Up at High-Heeled Love]

Now that we've started working on the spring garden, I've been more excited about projects for the backyard. I'm loving this potting bench that Atta Girl Says upcycled from an old changing table. It would be nice not to do our potting on the patio table.

Wood Slice Hanging Planter by The Hatched Home [Weekly Round-Up at High-Heeled Love]

Here's another great project for the yard, but this one can just as easily be moved indoors - a wood slice hanging planter from The Hatched Home. I'd love to use it to hang some fragrant herbs in the house.

5 Must Have Tools for the DIYer from The Turquoise Home [Weekly Round-Up at High-Heeled Love]

With all the crafty furniture projects that I've been pinning lately, this post from The Turquoise Home of her favorite tools for the DIYer is helpful. We own a few of these already, but now I have a few more on to-buy list.

I've mentioned before what a fan I am of Cassey Ho, the creator of Blogilates. I like how upbeat and positive she is in her workout videos and how she seeks to empower us to be happy with our bodies. I think we should all watch her video about the "perfect" body. And then we should think twice before open our mouths to say anything negative about someone's body (including our own).

I confess...

I need to start this post by wishing my Mister a Happy Anniversary. We're celebrating five years of marriage today. I cannot believe how quickly the time flies.

I confess...

Each spring, the Mister and I attend a charity auction dinner that's kind of fancy so I get a new dress. Shopping for a new dress is exactly the sort of thing that I wish my mom were still around to help me shop for, or at minimum that my best friend didn't live 3000 miles away. Luckily, the staff at White House Black Market are awesome.

I confess...

Let's talk puppy shenanigans. Two days in a row now, I've walked outside to find Roscoe on top of our patio table. As best I can tell, he's jumping vertically up on to the table; this morning I also caught him just about to stick his nose in the Mister's cereal bowl. We're in serious trouble with this one.

I confess...

My best buddy Rob and his fiancee are visiting this weekend, and they're bringing this cutie with them. It's been months since I've seen my sweet baby Em's face, and I'm looking forward to hugging and kissing her cute little cheeks.

Cute, and awesome that she can stand, but the last thing you want to see at 4am.

I confess...

We've hit the jackpot for A Little Seed Grows because this weekend is a Brown Box Veggies Weekend AND the Flower Festival is in town. Looking forward to some great photos and planting the garden.

If we haven't started from seed, this is where we head to get our garden starters. Looking forward to heading out to it Saturday afternoon.

The Mister and I are celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary this week, so I've been in the mood for music about love. I think that it's hard to beat some classic country when it comes to love songs, and this week, I'm sharing an older hit by Wynonna Judd which reminds me about the simple things in marriage and a relationship.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up - Cayce Festival of the Arts recap by the April Blake

We were so incredibly busy yesterday at the Cayce Festival of the Arts that none of the festival staff had a moment to take photos of the event. Luckily, another local blogger The April Blake came by and got some great shots.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up - Texas City commits to 100% renewable energy by the Treehugger

The Mister shared a Treehugger post with me recently about a town a little north of Austin that has committed to using 100% renewable energy. Georgetown may be the first in Texas to make the commitment, but we're hoping more cities around the country will get on board with the alternative energy movement.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up - Huge Non-Scale Victory by Glitter and Gloss

I shared a post from Glitter and Gloss in my Round-Up earlier this year regarding the changes she's made to get more fit and healthy. Last week, she shared another huge non-scale victory - being able fit into clothes a couple stores that didn't previously run up to her size. So proud of her progress and positive attitude.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up - Ways to Joyfully Manage Your Home by The Humbled Homemaker

Sometimes when things gets crazy, it's a difficult to remember the joy in life. So this post from The Humbled Homemaker of ways she tries to joyfully manage her home really spoke to my heart this morning.
