We had a fabulous Halloween weekend. As I mentioned during Friday Confessional, I was headed to the ballet Dracula, which I had never seen before.
On Saturday, we went with our nephew on his trick or treating in the condo complex and then headed to a friend's party. And we were home by midnight before I turned in a pumpkin.
So far, Open Enrollment has been going fairly smoothly at work. I'm super busy, but the website and my agent software and my internet have remained intact. In previous year, one or more of those elements has gone down, which makes the day not so much fun. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the office continues to run smoothly for the next 45-60 days until things slow down a little bit.
Yesterday, I heard an interesting concept in a podcast that I was listening to. The guest on the episode said that it is inherently ingrained within in us to notice and focus on negative things because in prehistoric days we had to be aware of threats to our survival. Therefore, we have to be proactive about noticing and placing focus on the positive experiences in our life.
Focusing on the good or being more deliberate about gratitude is something I've been working on lately. In fact, I've been sharing some gratitude point on the Facebook page.
