Financial Peace University: Week 9 Check-In

Hi everyone!

Welcome back for our Week 8 check-in on our Financial Peace Journey.

Financial Peace University is a weekly course that takes place over the course of 9 weeks; if you're interested in checking it out, you can go to his website www.DaveRamsey.com and search for nearby classes. We're taking ours through our church.

We're at the end of Week 9 of the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University, and we're discussing the ability to give back and how to bless those around us . Follow our journey to getting debt-free and meeting our financial goals at www.high-heeledlove.com

The Great Misunderstanding

In this lesson, Dave Ramsey discusses how an important key to wealth building is being generous with your money. He makes the argument that it all belongs to God in the first place and that we're simply stewards of his money. Part of being a good steward is taking care of the needs around us.

The Mister and I are firm believers in giving. Right now, we tend to give of our time since we aren't always able to financially contribute. I'm looking forward to becoming debt free so that we can choose to bless some people and causes we believe in.

This was the last session of our Financial Peace University, and we're now graduates. However, we're just getting started on our path to freedom.

For the Future

  • The Mister and I are continuing to work on our debt snowball. We knocked our four lowest off the list, and I suspect we'll be done with the next by the end of December.
  • I have agreed to become an accountability partner for someone who is walking this journey alone.
  • We are praying on whether we'd like to help coordinate a class next year, either in our church or in the general community.
I'm a little undecided as to how I want to continue FPU check-ins on the blog. Right now, I'm leaning toward monthly check-ins rather than weekly. Please let me know in the comments if you have a preference.

Finally, I would like to encourage my readers who don't have a financial plan to consider this course. It has brought me tremendous peace of mind to know that we're telling our money where to go to achieve our goals. The Mister and I feel that our marriage is much stronger because we're united on the front of money.
