This week's theme is workout must haves. Last week as part of my post about fitness fashion, I mentioned several must haves such as good running shoes and my Fitbit. So, I'm going to talk about a few other things I need to make my fitness habits successful.
WaterThis year, I've really been trying to make sure that I stay hydrated; normally, I try to drink at least 64 ounces. On workout days, I aim for another 48 ounces.
Dry Shampoo and Facial WipesAs my schedule gets busier, it's more important than ever than I get into jujitsu when I can for a workout; It helps with my stress levels. I'm more productive at work, but as gross as it sounds, there isn't always time for a shower. Thank goodness for dry shampoo and facial wipes to deal with the sweat and make my hair smell good.
Skin TreamentAs soon as I get home, I do get myself in the shower. My mother-in-law and her sister work in skincare, and they have spent a bit of time and money helping me learn to take proper cate of my skin. I make a point to get out of my workout clothing as soon as I'm done. I exfoliate and use body wash specifically for acne treatment because there's no getting around the fact the sweating can gunk up your pores. Also, sunscreen everyday. Everyday.
Dit Da JowThis is topical solution we make with vodka and Chinese herbs. It can be rubbed into a bruise to help break up the clotted blood. It can also help relieve soreness if you tweak a joint or overstressed the muscles. I believe helps improve circulation, and between the bruises I come home with and tendonitis in my elbow, Jow is a lifesaver in our house.
