Good morning, lovelies!

Confession is good for the soul, so grab the button and let it all out. You'll feel better when you're finished.

I confess...

It's so fun to have a Halloween that falls on a Friday! I hope y'all have some fun plans. The Mister and I are heading to a party downtown. We'll have to take some pictures to share.

I confess...

My favorite Halloween-y moment this week was helping out with some cupcakes for our nephew's daycare party. He had to taste one, of course, for quality control purposes.

I confess...

Yesterday was a work late kind of day. At about seven, the Mister sent me this picture of the pup who was waiting for me to come home. I packed up and left then.

I confess...

Do you see all the "renovation" stuffs in the background? I really need to do a progress report.

I confess...

A Little Seed Grows is in dire need of an update as well. I owe that blog at least two chili recipes, plus the fall garden needs planting. Keep your eyes open and hold me accountable! (Also, would you like the A Little Seed Grows FB page? We need a few likes to hit a goal.)

It feels like it's been a while since I've linked up for Musical Monday. Keeping with the Halloween theme from yesterday's Weekly Round-Up post, I wanted to share the top 10 Halloween songs.

Which is your favorite?

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Welcome to the Weekly Round-Up linky party, hosted by me and Miss Angie from My So-Called Chaos.

This party is all about sharing those fabulous blogs that you've read through the week and promote our blogger community. I hope it will help you use this party to find new blogs to read and build some new blogger friendships.

So, here are the rules:

1. Grab the button.
2. Write a little list of your favorite reads this week and why.
3. Link up below and go find some fabulous new ladies to be friends with.

Since Halloween is on Friday, I thought it would be fun to have a holiday-themed Round-Up; if you need some last-minute ideas, here you go:

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up Halloween-Style
If you're looking to avoid open flames on your porch, check out this solar light jack o'lantern, featured on Bitz & Giggles.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up Halloween-Style
Here's a quick Ghost Mason Jar Centerpiece from That's What Che Said; there are also seven more black and white Halloween projects linked to this post.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up Halloween-Style
If you're trying to decorate on a budget, these book page paper pumpkins from The Domestic Heart are an inexpensive way to go, and since they're a little less Halloween-y, these would work as part of Thanksgiving table-scaping too.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up Halloween-Style
This pumpkin candy dish from McCall Manor is super-cute. I like the idea of making one with silver or gold spray paint.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up Halloween-Style
And since making all those crafts is going to work up an appetite, how about these mouth-watering pumpkin pie bars from Crazy for Crust?

Good morning, lovelies!

I confess...

I signed up for another swap this week, and I haven't really said a word about it because I just haven't had the time I'd like blogging, but that means that I've been a slack swap partner. I want to fix that because I'm really loving my partner, Casey from A Girl and Merle.
A Girl & Merla

When Casey described herself to me as a "boy mom, a dog owner and a big coffee drinker," I knew we were going to get along fine. She started the blog recently as a fresh start to document life in her new home in a small town in Texas. The blog is named after her rescue dog Merle, who was unfortunately hit by a car and killed just last week.

You should go love on Casey! I'm looking forward to getting her mug swap goodies in the mail this afternoon.

I confess...

I don't know what I'd do if something happened to my sweet Paige. She's my little shadow, and as neurotic as she is, I love her to pieces.

I confess...

Work really is kicking my butt. It gets like this every October so I knew I'd be busy, but my internet keeps dropping off at the office, which is seriously stressing me out since I have multiple appointments each day that are not productive without access to the internet. Hopefully next week will be calmer.

I confess...

On Monday in jujitsu, we were working grip fighting...and we did some practicing as though we were not wearing gis (uniforms) because if you have to do it on the street, odds the bad guy won't be wearing a gi.

Having my muscles repeatedly gripped didn't hurt, but look at these bruises! It doesn't matter how much I've toughened up; that's ridiculous.

I confess...

That my friends tagging/sharing this article with me on Facebook might be them trying to tell me something. =D

Wine has saved my life these days so I'm going to keep enjoying it.

Tuesday, October 21

I've been excited to show you guys my Swapoween package. Justine shipped my package early since she was attending a conference during the scheduled ship dates, but I just haven't had time to take proper pictures of the goodies until this week.

I shared an introduction post last month; my partner this year is Justine from Little Dove Creations. This year's Swapoween was her first swap ever, and I've never swapped with a mommy who had young children at home, so I had a good time making sure they were spoiled.

Here is what she sent me:

First, she sent a card with a magnet on the front; in the card, she explained that it was from a really cool local costume store. There were also seasonal decorating items such as a mini pumpkin, bakers twine and fun themed paper straws.

I rarely buy seasonal goodies for myself; so, it was fun to see some packed in the box - pumpkin M&Ms and Oreos. There were several more Reese's cups in the package, but those are my favorite; so, they didn't last long enough to be in the photos.

And my favorite part of the package...wine accessories! Those wine glasses are completely opaque; I've never seen black wine glasses before. The wine labels will be fun to dress up hostess gifts for any costume parties we may attend this year.

Thank you so much, Justine! And much thanks to the fabulous ladies at Chaotic Goddess Swaps for continuing to organize such a fun swap.

That said, here were my favorite reads lately:

This DIY jewelry tray, shared by Aniko on IHeart Organizing, is so pretty and feminine. I'd love one for my dresser and to make a few as gifts for friends.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up 10.19.14
Karen has been sharing some of her creepy stories on her blog, A Peek at Karen's World, this month; she seems to have quite a few experiences. This one about footsteps in the snow gave me goosebumps.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up 10.19.14
One of these days, I'm going to have a custom closet, and when that time comes, this tutorial from The Turquoise Home on installing custom shelves will be very handy.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up 10.19.14
Amy at Her Tool Belt built these side tables from scratch after being inspired by Pottery Barn. I love the paint color and have a table from my grandmother that may get a fresh coat of paint soon.

High-Heeled Love: Weekly Round-Up 10.19.14
This hearty beef stew that Pure Grace Farms shared as part of her Sunday Suppers Series HAS to be made this week. It looks amazing!

Good morning, lovelies!

Confession is good for the soul, so grab the button and let it all out. You'll feel better when you're finished.

<div class="FRIDAY-CONFESSIONAL-HIGH-HEELED-LOVE-button" style="width: 200px; margin: 0 auto;"> <a href="http://www.high-heeledlove.com" rel="nofollow"> <img src="http://i1151.photobucket.com/albums/o621/highheeledlove/Blog%20Graphics/HighHeeledLove_zps6db62c81.jpg" alt="FRIDAY CONFESSIONAL at HIGH-HEELED LOVE" width="200" height="256" /> </a> </div>

I confess...

I didn't mean to take a week off blogging, but every year in October life starts to get crazy. My busiest season at work has begun, and none of the personal obligations have let up either. Think positive thoughts that I keep all the balls in the air.

I confess...

One of the teenagers in our jujitsu family passed away this week, and my heart just aches for his family.

I confess...

Last weekend, we had our October black belt class, and it was intense. Afterward on the way home, the Mister and I were talking about how I keep hearing from others (not necessarily at our school) that they are surprised I'm still training. Most of the time, it's meant as a compliment since I've now at brown belt.

But to me, it doesn't feel like a compliment. It feels like people's expectations of me were so low, they expected to just quit when the training got challenging. That hurts my feelings a little, but I guess I have to set my own bar if others' expectations are that low.

I confess...

I received my Swapoween package, and I can't wait to share it with y'all, but life is so crazy that I haven't taken photos yet.

I also have a new swap partner to introduce for a fall mug swap. So I promise to be back to blogging regularly this week.

I confess...

I should be on the road for work already, so I gotta wrap this up. Help a girl out, and share some good confessions this week.

I confess...

We had a crazy thunderstorm this morning. The hail woke me up about an hour earlier than I normally get up, and I'm having a hard time getting moving.

I confess...

I haven't had an opportunity to share how the jujitsu clinic went this year, but it was so cool. I think this  was by far the best clinic we've had since I started training. Of course, I have no pictures of me training, but one sweaty gi photo exists.

I confess...

The last couple pieces for my outgoing Swapoween package arrived yesterday, so I just need to pack it up to ship to Justine.

I confess...

I'm way too excited about heading to the State Fair tomorrow and seeing Lee Brice. It's been too long since the Mister and I have gone to a concert together, and this is going to be such a good show.

Easy peezy. Now on to the wine.
High-Heeled Love: Wino Wednesday 10.8.14

The Mister and I had a fun date night a couple weeks ago. Nothing like a little bubbly and a little wine to start the weekend on a good note.

Since I have a handful of friends that are vegetarian (or nearly so), I thought this article was a relevant read.

And this is pretty much how I feel when the weather cools off.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's happy to have our fall television shows back on. I'm a big Shonda Rimes fans, so of course I'm watching Grey's Anatomy and Scandal. And I was thrilled to see that Shonda's introduced a third show - How to Get Away with Murder.

My Musical Monday choice this week is a selection from the first episode of Grey's Anatomy. I've hard to believe that this is season 11.
