My name is Dana Renee, and I blog about life and style over at Dana Renee Style. Thank you so much to Aubrey for letting me take over today and share with you all! In the spirit of fashion and wine, I thought I would draw color inspiration from some favorite beverages to work into your holiday looks.
The deep burgundy hues of merlot are perfectly sum up the essence of fall. This rich color also has the all the flattering effects of black or brown, without being a played out neutral. A deep red dress is a great option for Thanksgiving dinner. If you're going more casual try adding suede burgundy shoes to your jeans and cardigan look. If you're going to be all bundled up in a coat, add a hat or scarf for a pop of color even in the coldest weather.
Best colors to pair with Merlot: Cream, Gray, Beige, Mint Green, Gold, Silver
Rosé or Blush evokes a romantic and almost whimsical feel. Even though it's a lighter color, this pretty pastel is appropriate year-round. This pale pink is perfect for a date night dress or pair a blush-tone blouse with skinny jeans and jeweled ballet flats to do your holiday shopping. My favorite thing about this hue is that you can pair it with other light colors like a ivory cardigan to keep it soft or wear it with black tights for a stark contrast. For accessories, rose options are everywhere. Try mixing in a watch, purse, or cocktail ring. Blush pink is also one of the most universally flattering makeup shades. You can wear it light for a subtle flush or build it up for a rosy-cheeked look.
Best colors to pair with Rosé: Gold, White, Black, Brown, Navy, Burgundy
Nothing says it's the holidays to me like a bit of bubbly, so why not work it into your party look? When I think of champagne, I am instantly transported to a Gatsby-esque daydream full of art deco-isnpired details. Try wearing a glamorous beaded dress to a New Year's Eve affair or grab a pair of peep-toe pumps and sleek clutch to wear with your LBD. For everyday wear, mix in a pair of shimmery flats or a patterned blazer with jeans and a cream cami. And don't forget to take care of your hands with a champagne manicure or stunning pair of gloves.
Best colors to wear with Champagne: Silver, Gold, Black, Cream, White, Blush Pink, Lavendar
