Wino Wednesday: Re-purposing barrels

Photobucket
Hi everyone!

Welcome back for the second edition of Wino Wednesday. Danielle from Secrets of a Sweet Southern Girl and I are awfully excited about this linky party and hope that you'll join in. Be sure to enter the giveaway at the bottom of the post.

Before we get started on this week's fun, let me cover the ground rules for the party:
  1. Grab the Wino Wednesday Button
  2. Write a post that is wine-related
  3. Link up and visit with the other partiers

Easy peezy. Now on to the wine...

Last week, I shared some cork projects, but this week, I'm looking at ways to re-purpose old wine barrels.

Like this wine barrel hot tub:

Turning a barrel into an entertainment organizer.

Deck chairs from salvaged cask boards.

Converting a barrel to a firepit.

And my favorite - creating a gorgeous coffee table from a barrel.

I love the wine barrel look. I'm actually trying to find one that I can use as a table for the wine ceremony in our wedding. I have no idea where to start though! I'm thinking about calling the local wineries for suggestions.

I've been wanting to get a half barrel for a planter for a long time, but the bookshelf one has utterly charmed me. Now to find an inexpensive source for getting wine barrels! ;)
