Mamarazzi is on a brief bloggy break, so the Friday Confessional party will be hanging out here through the end of October.

I confess...

Everytime I walk outside and don't see my Prius, it just bums me out. I know I should be excited at the prospect of getting a new car, but I really like the car I have. The tough part is that we still don't know what's going to happen. The adjuster won't be out to look at mine until next week, and then we'll find out whether they're going to try to repair it.

I confess...

That the bruises on my knee and foot, while minor, have put a stop to me running for a little while. That stinks because I had just started running again and because the weather has been perfect for running this week.

I confess...

There's a sumo contest at the dojo tomorrow and I'm excited because the Mister has to compete. This is one of the more fun and humorous events that our school hosts. It's particularly fun to see the kids compete in sumo against the adults after the "official" matches are over.

I confess...

I don't have a lot to say this week since I've been sick. Nyquil is my current best friend.

But(!!) I'd really like to see what you confess, so link up your confessional below. Please leave a comment after linking so I can go visit your page.

Last week, Alexandra from 21st and Serendipity gave me the Liebster Award. I'm pretty sure I've been given this blog award before, but today I'm still not feeling well so I'm going to be a good sport and answer her questions.
  1. What would you eat if you were only allowed one thing for the rest of your life? Pizza...I love it, and it's so versatile that I could still be creative in what I'm eating.
  2. What magical power would you choose to have and why? It would be cool to time travel or be able to pause time. It just seems like life moves so quickly these days; I'd really like to be able to savor some of the moments a little longer.
  3. If you could make your favorite movie your real life, which one would you pick and why? Well, I have a lot of movie picks, so this is hard, but I'd love it if the Harry Potter world were real. Can you imagine spending your formative years at Hogwarts? That would be awesome.
  4. Name two things on your bucket list that haven't yet been checked off. Learn to surf and travel to Europe
  5. Why did you start your blog? I started blogging about our wedding planning, but that was more than 3 years ago.
  6. Favorite piece of jewelry and why? I guess the obvious answer hear would be my wedding rings, but I'm also going to say my jet bead necklace because it was my mothers and it makes me feel glamorous when I wear it.
  7. If you had a day of no consequences, what would you do? Today, I would just sleep because I'm sick and that would be awesome. Another day, I'd play hookie and drive down to the beach.
  8. Best birthday and why? I loved my 16th because my friends threw me a fantastic surprise birthday party. As an adult, my 30th birthday last year was a really good celebration.
  9. The book you could read over and over. The Between Boyfriends Book by Cindy Chupak. Cindy was a writer and producer for Sex and City. This book makes me laugh until I cry, no matter how many times I read it.
  10. (Fill in the blank) I'm currently obsessed with _________________. Baby boy stuff on Pinterest. Probably because we're expecting two nephews in the next six months.
  11. The thing you're most looking forward to in this coming month of October? Moog Fest. We went last year and had such a blast.

The rest of the award involves telling you 11 random things about me and tagging other bloggers. I'm just not feeling up to it today, but if you want to play along and answer Alexandra's questions, that would be awesome. Leave a comment below so I can visit and see your answers.

Wednesday, September 26

Sorry for the brief bloggy absence this week. Life got ahold of me this week. I only have few minutes before I have to step out for a breakfast meeting, but I thought I'd give you a quick update.

1. This weekend, I went to a jewelry show featuring hand-made treats by Danielle from Secrets of a Sweet Southern Girl. She makes some beautiful pieces and takes custom orders. You should totally check out her etsy shop, Wired Essentials.

2. I headed up to Clemson to harass my best guy friend Rob for his 30th birthday. We had a good time going out for wings and milkshakes and watching football.

3. On Monday morning, I was in a car accident on the way to work. Thankfully, neither the other driver or I was injured, however, my poor Prius is not looking good. I'm waiting to hear whether she can be repaired or if I'll be car shopping this weekend.

4. I got a really good laugh yesterday when the rental car company put me in a Dodge Grand Caravan. Apparently all they had on the lot was a minivan, so I'm having a ball poking fun at my new soccer mom status. They are going to try to swap me out to a car today.

5. The weather is officially changing to crisp, cool fall weather. That is awesome, but it also brings with it a fantastic head cold. I'm over the sinus pressure, sneezing and runny nose.

So that's my week so far. What's going on in yours?

 I confess...

I finally started my running program for the Color Run this week. Miss Paige and I went for a run together, and I am so sore. She's fine; that dog has more energy than I would know what to do with....but the point is that after talking for months about it, I AM running again. Yay!

I confess...

I had so much fun at the Palmetto Blogger meet-up last weekend. A group of us South Carolina ladies met up at our local Wine and Design to have some fun and take a painting lesson. I still have intention of writing a full post, but I enjoyed it so much that my MIL and I have decided to sign up for a class later this week.

I confess...

I didn't make it to jujitsu at all last week, and I missed Monday and Wednesday this week too. So yesterday, I decided that I really needed to go in for the day class. Let me just say, skipping almost two weeks in a row really isn't that bright. I could barely remember how to take a fall, nevermind throw somebody.

I confess...

That this is how I've felt most of the week:

I've resisted the urge though.

I confess...

The Mister stated talking about new puppies and dogs this week....I don't know what's gotten into him, but I'm nowhere near ready to adopt a new dog yet. I miss Gracie Mae.

ThankfulThursday

So this week, I wanted to dedicate Thankful Thursday to our girl Gracie Mae, whom we had to put to sleep last Thursday. We're really thankful that we had so many years (almost 7!) with a dog who had so much love to give. I'm also glad that we were able to make a hard decision and spare her any further pain.
Here are some of my favorite Gracie Mae photos:

Danielle from Secrets of a Sweet Southern Girl is hosting Fairy Tale Week, and today's theme is the Fairy Tale 'Pinspired' edition, and I thought it would be fun to have some fun at the Disney princesses' expense.

Yesterday, I was working on a new playlist to go running to, using some suggestions from the Fit Bottomed Girls. At their suggestion, I headed over to download the Best of Bootie 2011 album, which is a complete playlist of club mashup songs. It was on from there.

The Mister and I spent the rest of the evening cooking, dancing and laughing to awesome mashup music. One of my favorite tracks of the the evening was this Nelly v. Bee Gees Mash, "Staying Hot" by DJ Lobsterdust. I was thrilled this morning to find a video to accompany the the song.

It doesn't get more fun than this. So I want to know, what gets you up and dancing?

Friday, September 14

Before we get started with Friday Confessions, I wanted to share some good news and some bad news:

Good: Jami from Bowling Adventures had her baby yesterday. Jami is another SC blogger whom I became friends with last year; you may remember me telling you about her sister. I was thrilled to see pictures of baby Paige yesterday on Facebook. The whole family is doing well. Please stop by her blog (no baby pictures yet) to tell her congratulations.

Bad: We had to put our older dog Gracie Mae to sleep yesterday. She had not been feeling well all week, and yesterday when we took her to the vet, he advised us that her liver was in failure. She will be much missed, and we'd appreciate if you'd keep our family in your thoughts. I will likely be posting this weekend with some of my favorite Gracie pictures.

I confess...

This week has made me realize how thankful I am for my family...especially my Mister. Some days, I just don't know what I'd do without that man.

I confess...

Work has been kicking my rear lately. In addition to normal day-to-day business, I am seriously evaluating moving the office to a location closer to home, and that entails a lot more details than I would have thought. The possible changes are exciting but a little overwhelming.

I confess...

We have a friend who is closing on her house today in our neighborhood. After college, most of my close girlfriends have scattered all over; none of them live in Columbia anymore. I am so excited to have a girlfriend right around the corner!

I confess...

I am too excited about tomorrow's Palmetto Blogger meet-up. We're going to have a great time! If you're a blogger in South Carolina, it's not to late for you to join us tomorrow afternoon. Click on the button  above to get in touch with Danielle from Secrets of a Sweet Southern Girl for details.

I confess...

I'm hoping to also catch the Gamecocks game tomorrow. We're playing Missouri, who is new to the SEC, so it should be interesting to see.
