Today I got an email from The Nest with the subject "7Signs You're Ready for a Baby

I've talked before about how the Mister and I seem to be getting that baby question a lot since we've gotten married. And I thought it would be a fun blog to see how many of these "signs" apply to us.
1. You're not totally bored at a friend's baby shower.
I'm not totally bored at baby showers. In fact I think they're kind of fun, but I'm not taking mental notes (as the email suggests) on what gifts I'd want to receive at my own shower. But for the sake of argument, I'll say this sign applies.
YES

2. You can tell a Bugaboo from a Mclaren – and you have a preference.
Um, I have no idea what either of these brands are. I'm guessing strollers since that's the photo that accompanies this sign.
NO
3. You stop noticing cute dogs. (and kittens)
Yeah, no. We all remember that I tried to adopt a kitten a few weeks ago. My fur babies are still my fur babies.
NO

4. You’ve perused the aisles of A Pea in the Pod just for fun.
I've never heard of A Pea in the Pod, nor have I perused there. The only time I'm looking at baby clothing is when I'm shopping for a baby shower.
NO
5. You’re less interested in Christian Louboutins, and more interested in the name Christian.
LMAO, uh no. And I don't think that even when I get pregnant I'll become less interested in shoes than I am now.
NO

6. You figure out when you’re ovulating and feel a thrill when you and your husband have sex on those days -- even with protection.
I've never paid attention to this, though I used to have an app that would tell me. I used it to track when my special friend was due.
NO
7. You crave the pregnancy glow.
Okay, I'll admit, I do think women are pretty cute when they're pregnant and just beginning to show. And I've wondered what I'll look like at that point, but I don't crave it.
MAYBE

So to sum it up...1.5 of 7 signs apply. I guess I'm not ready for a baby. No surprise there.
Did this list help anyone else realize they are/aren't ready for a baby? Share below. =)

Hello my friends.

I'm not feeling well today, so I'm going to keep my Happy List pretty simple. Here's what's making me smile this week.
I didn't buy it, but I wanted to.
My best buddy's handiwork

The Mister was kind enough to let me have my Erin Condren planner a little early.
This man makes me happy.
So true.

Saturday, December 17

At our neighborhood association meeting this week, a couple of neighbors who have a little more life experience than I do were teasing me about my shoes. Apparently my choice of footwear reminded them of the platform days from the 70s.

In light of that, I figured, we'd have some fun with some platforms this week.

FLY London Women's Uke T-Strap Sandal
Betsey Johnson Serenn
Jeff Campbell Crosby Platform

Steve Madden Chunky Sandals
MIA Women's Hawthorne
Tell me which shoes are on your lust list this week?

Because confess is good for the soul!

It's Friday!!!!

I'm not quite sure why I'm so excited since I have work to do over the weekend, too, but I am. I can't believe there's only five work days before Christmas. It's time to confess all the crazy this week. Here we go.

I confess...

It makes me smile to see other Prius drivers on the road. Yesterday, there were three of us right in a row on the interstate. Hybrid cars are going to take over the world....or at the very least, the interstates around Columbia, South Carolina.

According to a forum I read. The unofficial plural form of Prius is Prii. That makes me smile, too. I nicknamed mine Pria. I find it hard to believe that I've had her for almost 2 years. I love that car just as much as when we bought her.

I confess...

I love my new iPhone, but I kind of wish I had not tweeted about getting it. I have received spammy tweets waaaay too often since I mentioned it. Hey spammers, I know those links won't take me to a free anything, and I know how to use that handy "Report Spam" button in my twitter. (Hey, are we twitter friends? Follow me @highheeledlove if not)

I confess...

I have not needed to do a full grocery trip in weeks. We've been picking up things here and there for breakfast and lunch, but holiday parties have consumed dinner. I appreciate not having to cook, but I am looking forward to getting back to healthier eating after the holiday.

That in addition to eating healthier after the holidays, I should really focus on working out on a regular basis. My schedule only looks to get busier next year, and if I don't make working out a commitment to myself, it's going to fall out of my lifestyle. If anyone would be up for another workout challenge like my Spring Movement Challenge, would you send me an email?

I confess...

This quote came in my inbox today, and it was just perfect for me.

I confess...

Sometimes, I'm not quite sure how music ends up in my iTunes. I frequently import cds I've rediscovered, and I get free music through sites like NoiseTrade. Sometimes the music has just been there for years and hasn't come up on my playlist in a while.

Either way, this song by Carrie Underwood came played this morning on the drive to work, and it made me really stop and think about what I could be doing to help others. Isn't that something we should all be trying to do, especially during the holidays?

Wednesday, December 14

I heard this on the radio this morning and thought it would be interesting to share:
Reindeer are the only animals who can see ultra-violet light. It's a defense mechanism so they can see things like a polar bears against a snowy backdrop.
Reindeer can run at speeds of 50 mph and swim at 6 mph. When reindeer migrate, they can travel up to 23 miles in one day.
No wonder they are Santa's animal of choice.

Hello lovelies!

So far it's been a great week. It's amazing how much more relaxed I am when my work level cools off a little. Today is Tuesday, so it's time time recount all the things that are making me smile.

1. Last week, I actually got out of the office for lunch for the first time in a couple months. It was wonderful, and sushi makes my belly HAPPY.

2. The Mister and I went to a wonderful Christmas party at our neighbors' house over the weekend. We had a great time making new friends is a great reason to be HAPPY.

3. I went down to Verizon today because I'm due for an upgrade on my phone. I'm so HAPPY that a shiny new iPhone is shipping to me this week. My Droid has been driving me crazy these past few week. Merry Christmas to me!

4. Only eight working days until Christmas. If I don't think about the piles of work in my office, I'm HAPPY about that. If I do think that about the piles of work in my office, then I'm HAPPY that my company has plenty of business.

5. Christmas cards make me HAPPY. They've started rolling in, both at home and at work. It's so fun to receive real mail that isn't bills. And we're almost halfway done with addressing/sending ours.

Good morning!

I confess...

I had this post written yesterday, but it didn't save in my drafts as it should have so it didn't get posted. That kind of irritates me, but I see the world is still turning so I'll have to get over it.

I confess...

The Mister and I received our first Christmas card this week, and that made me think that I should probably decide if we're going to send cards this year. I think I may missed the boat on getting some cute photo cards printed. I guess since Christmas is two weeks from tomorrow, that I probably better work on them this weekend if it's going to happen.

I confess...

I'm ready for a weekend out of town. After all the work craziness (that finally ended on Wednesday) and all the holiday hustle and bustle, I really want to just go down to the beach for a weekend to relax. Unfortunately, we don't have any weekends coming up where I can sneak away, and I'm trying to plan a bit of getaway next month, so I'm going to have to be happy where I am. But I'd rather be here:

1. I'm HAPPY that tomorrow is Dec. 7, which is the last day of the busiest work season of the year for me. I'm glad to have the business, but I'm ready to breathe a little bit. I still have about two months worth of administrative paperwork to catch up on, but at least I can do that at home....with music on....in my pajamas. =)

2. I was so thrilled and HAPPY over the weekend when I discovered during jeans shopping that the pants I was trying on were too big for me. In both sizes I have picked out. They didn't have the next size down on the clearance rack, but that's okay. The next morning I tried my "skinny" jeans on just to see, and they buttoned!

3. My darling bloggy friend Janna sent me a little pre-holiday package last week. Getting mail  is so much fun, and aren't those shoe napkins adorable?

I'm so HAPPY that blogging has brought some really great women into my life.  My only complaint is that most of them live across the country. I think we'd have an awesome Ladies Night Out if we only lived closer together.

4. Holiday music and decorating makes me HAPPY. This weekend, we spent some time during the Sunday school hour helping decorate the church. The little kids making ornaments and cards were just adorable.

5. 75-degree weather in December is just awesome. I had to turn the air conditioning back on at work today. I hate to be cold, so this mild weather makes me pretty darn HAPPY.
