I so loved Water for Elephants when I read it a few years ago, and I'm really excited that the movie  will be released in April.

It's so hard to believe that today is the last day of February. This is my last Happy List of the Month. If you haven't participated before, you may want to link up today. Mamarazzi does a special drawing amongst her Happy List participants each month. Besides, who doesn't like spreading happiness and smiles?

1. It was on my Happy List last week too. The weather is just gorgeous. Yesterday, it was in the 80s. In February!! Sometimes I really love living in South Carolina.

2. I finally had some girl time with some friends. My good friend Lisa (remember her Charleston wedding?) invited me to a ladies tea at her mom's church on Saturday afternoon. It was a really good time, and the food was excellent. Hello, cranberry orange scones. I also called Miss Kate in Cali, and we caught up over the phone.

3. The Mister and another friend had their plate party at the Flying Saucer yesterday. It's always nice to drink some free beer, and a number of friends that we hadn't seen in a while came out to celebrate. I couldn't get a decent picture of the plates, but here are the two newest members of the UFO club's Ring of Honor.

4. The chili cookoff at church was a great success. The Mister and I brought two crockpots and left with about half of one, so it was pretty popular. We won the title of most savory chili. I'm still trying to work out sharing the recipe on the blog. It's secret recipe from a friend, so I was thinking I'd list the base ingredients and leave out the secret ingredients. Then everyone could modify it as they want. What do you think?

5. Coffee makes me happy, and that's why I'm giving it away. Check it out HERE.

Confession is good for the soul.

I confess...
Work has been kicking my butt this week. It's always like that at the end of the month, but this week it just seems worse. Maybe it's because the weather has been so pretty that I just don't want to be in the office. So I may be leaving a little earlier than I really should. You know that the means? It means I'm going to have to give my Saturday morning to the office to catch up.

“Practicing tropical medicine in a third-world country is a different game.... You don’t have high tech, you don't have big pharma—you have your brain, you have your instincts.”
I confess...
Dr. Ben Keeton from Off the Map is my newest crush. He's just so darn hot, and I love his accent. =) Luckily the Mister doesn't mind me having tv crushes. Actually, I asked the Mister to start watching the show with me because I thought he would like it, which he did. And I'm really glad about that because we haven't had a show we watch together since Lost ended.

I confess...
I still haven't picked gone through my chili recipes and decided which one I'm cooking for the cookoff on Sunday. I blame work, but the doesn't change that I need to decide. And go grocery shopping. I really need to get that done tonight since I'll be in the office tomorrow morning.

I confess...
I'm thrilled at how many entries there are so far for my first giveaway. I was hesitant to host one because I wasn't sure that I could put a package together that people would want to win. Clearly, coffee is a good choice.

I confess...
I like playing this game too much on Facebook. I may need to seek out a support group.
I confess....
I don't really want a Chrysler, but I am from Detroit. And I get excited every time I see this commercial. Imported from Detroit. Oh yeah.

Hi everyone!

I promised a giveaway on Monday, and then my week turned into one of those weeks. This morning is the first chance I've really had to get back to my blog. I hope you forgive me! I've been thinking about a giveaway since I hit 100 followers and what I would enjoy giving to one of my readers.

It's no secret on my blog that I'm a BIG fan of coffee. I mention it probably once a week. And last week on Mamarazzi's blog, she gave away an adorable coffee cozy from CreamNoSugar. When I saw the etsy shop, I immediately thought of a half dozen people that I knew who would enjoy a cozy from the shop.

So I purchased the cozies I wanted to give to my friends, and now I want to give one to one of my lovely blog readers. This giveaway is a coffee-related goody box, which includes the following:

this "Sealed with a Kiss" coffee cozy from CreamNoSugar and a coffee mug

a $25 Starbucks gift card

a bag of my newest coffee love - New England Coffee's San Francisco Blend

This giveaway is open to US and Canada readers. Here's how you can enter. Please leave a separate comment for each entry.

1. Be a follower of this blog and leave a comment below telling me what you do in the middle of a stressful day for a pick-me-up. If you don't have your email active with your profile, be sure to leave your email in the comment. (Mandatory - 1 entry)

This is what's making me smile today.

1. The weather this weekend was absolutely perfect. The Mister and I played outside all Saturday afternoon. By play outside, I mean that Mister spent the whole day trimming hedges and pulling up vines and I sat in the sunshine and read a magazine. We clearly have different ideas about relaxing.

2. I heart Shutterfly. They are always giving me free things. And now these address card are on their way to our house, though I didn't realize until after I ordered them that they match baby boy Baptism stationery. We have no babies to baptize; I just thought they were a pretty label for a Christian household.

3. I will be announcing my first blog giveaway this afternoon!

4. Yesterday, the Mister and I stopped by Manifest. I'm hunting a used copy of Season 6 of Grey's Anatomy. I wasn't able to find that, but I did find Seasons 1 & 2 of Private Practice on sale buy one, get one 50% off. Two seasons came home with me for less than 25 dollars. I love a good deal.

5. Our church is having a chili cook off next Sunday to raise money for the the youth trip. So I'll be spending the week going through my recipes and picking my favorite to make. I make a mean batch of chili, and I'm excited to share mine off with our church family.

Confession is good for the soul.

I confess...

The weather has been so nice this week that I'm dying to play hooky for an afternoon and go play outside. I mean how can you concentrate on work when it is 75 and sunny outside? I think we should go to go three-day work weeks and four-day weekends during the spring time.

I confess...

When we went out for sushi on Valentine's Day, my eyes were way bigger than my stomach. To the tune of us taking an order of vegetable tempura home because we ate some much we didn't even touch it. I confess that I ate that entire order of vegetable tempura for lunch the next day. I'm going to give myself a premature heart attack, but it was so good.

I confess...

I am entirely too excited about meeting some friends at the Flying Saucer for a beer this evening after work. Sometimes Happy Hour is just that exciting. It's not as though I've had a hard week at work but still.

I confess...

I have finally gotten my butt in gear and started exercising. When the weather is as nice as it has been, you really have no excuse to not at least take a walk with your dogs. And the Mister and I will go for a bike ride this weekend, though I wish we were heading to Charleston to go ride at the beach.

I confess...

That almost 50 followers after my goal, I have decided on and purchased most of the items for my first bloggy giveaway. Check back on Monday for details. I'll give you one hint - It has to do with my love of coffee.

“To love deeply in one direction makes us more loving in all others.” ― Anne-Sophie Swetchine

1. This happened in the afternoon, or it would have totally made my Friday confessions - I found a gray hair. I'm not graying yet; I refuse, so Friday evening was spent with a a bottle. A color bottle. Now I have a pretty new hair color.
I'm also wearing my new earrings.

2. To go along with my new hair color, I decided to give myself a manicure using the pinkalicious polish that Janna sent in my pinktastic swap package.

3. The Mister and I headed to Clemson for the weekend to see my buddy Rob. We had a great weekend that involved grilling steaks, playing dominoes, fixing a computer, beer and Valentine's Day funfetti cupcakes. (I found them at the third grocery store I went to.)
4. This morning I woke up to find the Mister had two bouquets of fresh flowers for me - one for the office and one for at home. I really, really love that man. =)

5. My MIL made us the cute, little brownie pops. Now I'm inspired to make some to share with my friends.
